Blood is donated by Gen Zs to assist people hurt during anti-Finance Bill demonstrations.

Over 100 pints of blood have been donated by young people in Mlolongo, Machakos County, in support of the medical care of young people, also known as Gen Zs, who were shot during nationwide demonstrations against the Finance Bill.

Leading the way was Moses Obash, the head of the Mlolongo-based Syokimau Mlolongo Sabaki (SMS) Youth Network. On Saturday, June 29, 2024, over a hundred young people freely gave blood to assist friends and coworkers who had been hurt during protests.

The youth, however, urged President William Ruto to begin the process of forming a new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and pledged not to give up on their fight for fairness and reforms in the nation.

They also demanded that IPOA and other independent organizations launch investigations against rogue police officers who killed multiple peaceful protestors across the nation.

The organization promised to keep up the protests in the meanwhile, even focusing on dishonest county government officials.
